Goodbye Paper money
On the 30th September we said our final farewell to £20 and £50 notes made in paper, as they are no longer legal tender.
But don’t worry if you still have some old notes tucked away – some banks and building societies will still exchange them for you, but policies vary on this, so check with your local branch.
And the Bank of England will always honour every banknote that it has ever been printed, so you can post it, or visit their headquarters in London, and swap your paper note for the new and improved Polymer notes.
